Summer: Sun, beach and… sand
Holidays. This magic word is for most Spaniards (and other Europeans) synonymous with sund and “Dolce Farniente” on the beach, i.e. sweet idleness. No work, no chores, just relaxation and recreation.
But direct sunlight is risky, not only for our skin but also for our technological devices that come with us. Wherever, also to the beach.
And then it is very likely that we experience this not at all relaxing moment when the mobile phone or tablet drops in the sand. Or the moment when the suntan lotion opens in our bag, staining everything else inside.
To prevent further desasters, we have some tips for you:
Mobile and/or tablet. The vast majority of smartphone users takes the phone to the beach. Because we don’t know how to disconnect, or because we want to send our friends a whatsapp, take a selfie or just because we want to. But the sun and the sand are not exactly the best friends of our phone or tablet. So, it’s necessary to protect it: If you don’t use your phone/tablet, hide it in the shade (in your bag or wrapped in a towel). And to safeguard it from the sand, put it in a transparent, resealable bag or wrap it in a plastic film. If, despite all precautions, it still gets full of sand, turn it off and remove the sand with the help of a hair dryer or a fan that blow cold air.
Suntan lotion. Sunscreen is very important! Don’t ever expose your skin to the sunlight without protection! But what is good for your skin is not so good for your clothes or your bag. So carry the lotion in a zippered plastic bag. If it still is spilled, remove the stain as soon as possible with some water and Kiriko detergent, rubbing it manually. Back at your holiday home, wash the garment in the washing machine. Also the bag, if you can. If not, let it dry in the sun.
These are very simple tips and tricks that will help you enjoy those magnificent days of sun, sea and perfect rest.
Happy Holidays!
